When night falls, the streets glow as if a galaxy of stars is twinkling. Taiwan has many distinctive scenic bridges, and this time, HowToTrip spotlights the top four scenic bridges in New Taipei City. As part of the New Taipei City Government’s four-year scenic bridge project — building one bridge per year to enhance the recreational value of riverbanks and transform the entire city into a uniquely charming metropolis.

First – Xindian Sunshine Bridge
The first pedestrian and cycling scenic bridge in New Taipei City, designed with people in mind, featuring both aesthetics and nighttime light art. The bridge's light art design embellishes the beautiful riverside of the Xindian River at night, utilizing fully energy-efficient and low-carbon LED lighting equipment. A carefully crafted dynamic light show creates a luminous nighttime attraction in Xindian.

Second – Sanying Longyao Bridge
Longyao Bridge spans the Yingge Creek, connecting the bicycle paths of New Taipei City and Taoyuan. The bridge adopts a steel truss structure to enhance its lightweight feel and modern spatial aesthetic. Its design draws inspiration from the cultural background of wooden carvings within the bridge, shaping the bridge body into the form of a celestial dragon bringing auspiciousness, creating a time tunnel that evokes the imagery of a dragon kiln.
