Welcoming the “Universal Magical Christmas” event from now until January 9, 2017, Universal Studios Japan, adorned with snowy scenery, is already brimming with festive cheer. Vibrant lights, limited-edition holiday merchandise, aromatic market foods, and non-stop performances create a double celebration for both the 15th anniversary and Christmas, doubling the joy and multiplying the wonder.
Heart-pounding thrills that flip your world upside down
The themed rides, tailored to each area of the park, are a must-do when visiting Universal Studios Japan. The “Hollywood Dream” roller coaster, whether you ride forward or backward, is sure to elicit screams of excitement. With high-tempo music playing through personal speakers, the ride slowly ascends to its peak. After the first sudden drop, all your tense nerves are instantly released. Slowly open your eyes and relax your body to feel the rush of speed—as if for a moment, you’ve become part of the wind, flying freely.
Another hugely popular attraction is the “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™ in 4K3D.” Wind through the dark rooms of the castle, put on 3D glasses, and enter the magical world of Harry Potter. Sit in seats that rotate 180 degrees as you fly, dive, and spin along with the movie scenes on screen, embarking on a thrilling scream-filled journey alongside Harry.
To celebrate its 15th anniversary, a new Jurassic Park ride has been introduced—the “Flying Dinosaur,” touted as the “world’s longest” and featuring the “greatest height difference” among flying coasters. With your feet dangling and facing the ground, it feels as though you’re being carried into the sky by a pterosaur. Once you overcome the initial climb, the sudden drop takes your breath away, followed by graceful loops that mimic bird flight—delivering multiple layers of flying thrills in one ride.

A once-a-year spectacular party
When you encounter the park’s most beloved Minions parade, the line of Minions poses for photos with guests—hugging or holding them—while occasionally flashing funny and witty expressions that keep both kids and adults laughing. The 15th-anniversary “RE-BOOOOOOOORN!” parade, set to energetic music, features floats loaded with characters from various fantasy worlds, dancing and inviting everyone to join in the fun. Amid the uplifting tunes, a flurry of bubbles sprays into the sky, creating a romantic snow-like scene that brings the event to its climax.

Head to the “Christmas RE-BOOOOOOOORN Market” for a feast, where limited-time festival foods beckon visitors. In addition to the Christmas Minion popcorn bucket, there are candied churros, Minion and Elmo curry buns, festive turkey legs, bread soup… Not only do they catch the eye, but they also taste delicious. Take a chance at the games for a shot at winning big surprises.
As night falls, “Angel’s Miracle III ~The Voice of an Angel~” takes the stage, presenting a love story through a dynamic light show. Accompanied by music, angels and glowing orbs symbolizing love slowly rise and gather, instantly illuminating the “World’s Tallest Light Christmas Tree,” which has held the Guinness World Record for five consecutive years. Fireworks and light interweave, heralding the start of a magnificent Christmas rebirth night.
