The “Ali Mountain Sunrise Impression Concert” is an annual highlight of the recreational area, jointly hosted in rotation by the Chiayi Forest District Office of the Forestry Bureau, Chiayi County Government, and the Ali Mountain National Scenic Area Administration of the Tourism Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. To accommodate visitors wishing to catch the “2017 New Year’s Day sunrise,” the Ali Mountain National Forest Recreation Area under the jurisdiction of the Chiayi Forest District Office will remain open 24 hours, and has also coordinated with tourism, transportation, and police departments to implement traffic management and shuttle plans. The goal is to ensure that visitors ascending the mountain to enjoy the scenery can depart safely with renewed positive energy and return home happily.

Visitor Service Center hours: Extended until 7 PM on December 31, 2016, and opens early at 3 AM on January 1, 2017.
The “2017 Ali Mountain Sunrise Impression Concert” will take place from 5:30 AM to 7:20 AM on January 1, 2017, at the Gao Yue Observation Platform within the recreational area. To serve attendees, the Visitor Service Center will open early at 3 AM on January 1, offering services such as travel consultation, luggage storage, and nursing (breastfeeding) facilities.
Free shuttle service on Provincial Highway 18, kilometers 89K–95K, from December 31, 2016, to January 2, 2017
The “sunrise” is one of the internationally renowned “Five Wonders” of the Ali Mountain National Forest Recreation Area. The once-a-year opportunity to greet the first light of the New Year’s Day is not to be missed.
Given the limited parking space within the recreational area, and to prevent parking issues from affecting visitors’ experience, the Chiayi Forest District Office has designated roadside parking spaces along Provincial Highway 18, kilometers 86–88K and 88–95K, for large vehicles and passenger cars respectively. Additionally, ten free shuttle stops (spaced every 500 meters) have been set up between kilometers 89 and 95 of Provincial Highway 18. Visitors who park outside the recreational area can take these shuttles free of charge to the entrance transfer station (temporary ticket checkpoint). Shuttle service runs from 1 PM to 5 PM on December 31, 2016, 3 AM to 5 PM on January 1, 2017, and 8 AM to 5 PM on January 2, 2017. The entrance transfer station outside the recreational area will also operate according to the shuttle schedule, providing waiting areas, cold protection, and drinking water for visitors.
