Affected by persistent strong southwest monsoon, Pingtung has experienced astonishing rainfall over consecutive days. The second bridge from Wutai Village to Dawu Village in Wutai Township was washed away, disrupting traffic—fortunately, villagers remain safe. Meanwhile, Pingtung’s Shan Chuan Glass Bridge also ceased operations in the afternoon. In response to the severe rainstorm, the Pingtung County Government established a Level 2 “0611 Torrential Rain” Disaster Response Center at noon.
