During the Lunar New Year, cities and towns across the country have prepared a variety of sightseeing activities, offering the public diverse options for festive travel. The 2017 Hsinchu Chinese New Year Festival, now in its second year, takes “Windy City Wonders” as its theme. It has installed seven large-scale art pieces and a riverside lighting project at locations such as the city moat, East Gate Fort, and the 228 Peace Memorial Park, using innovative and vibrant methods to give traditional districts a fresh new look. A grand lantern-lighting ceremony was held on the evening of the 20th at 228 Peace Park.
