Recently, the Vivofit Corporate Challenge, hosted by global GPS giant Garmin, kicked off. Aimed at encouraging office workers to stay active, the challenge seeks to help participants shed their “homebody” image, steer clear of sub-health conditions, and enjoy the fun of exercise.

The first stop was Shanghai, where Garmin invited a total of 150 participants from five companies—Ctrip Travel Network, IBM Running Club, China Unicom Shanghai, Mobi International, and Shanghai Vanke—to compete. Contestants wore the vivofit smart bands provided by Garmin as their competition devices, and the company with the highest cumulative activity score won.

After 21 days of fierce competition, the “Ala Unicom Team” emerged victorious, claiming the championship with a total score of 11,428,735, becoming the first-ever champion of the Vivofit Corporate Challenge. Let’s take a look at the final rankings below.

The rankings were determined based on the total accumulated activity of the contestants. The “Ala Unicom Team” led the pack from the start, showcasing their team strength with impressive activity numbers. Over the 21-day competition, they amassed a total of 11.43 million activity points, averaging about 18 kilometers per person per day.

Statistics showed that participants exercised roughly 13 kilometers per day on average, indicating that today’s white-collar workers are highly conscious of their health and fitness management.
Garmin prepared attractive prizes for the competing teams, including VIRB action cameras, vivofit health bands, classic polo shirts, commemorative medals, and experience vouchers for the Alexander Health Club. Participating teams also enjoyed special discounts on vivofit devices, with the winning team able to secure even greater deals based on their activity performance.
At the same time, Garmin partnered with the Alexander Health Club to invite experienced coaches to deliver diverse workout sessions tailored for desk-bound professionals, which received unanimous praise from all participating companies.
