The Taiji Legend Cultural Industry Cluster is a flagship project within the systematic initiative to “build an internationally first-class tourism destination, with Mount Wudang as the leader and Taiji Lake as the engine.” Rooted in the historical legacy of the Wudang Taiji ancestral temple, it aims to become a world-class hub for Taiji cultural excellence and a gathering place for the Taiji cultural industry. In 2011, Taiji Lake signed a contract with a Hollywood creative team from the United States to develop the world’s first Taiji martial arts theme park—Wudang Martial Arts City—and invited renowned producer Zhang Jizhong to serve as an advisory expert for "The Legend of Taiji."
Three years later, exciting news has emerged about "The Legend of Taiji," a key project within the Taiji Legend Cultural Industry Cluster: a well-known Broadway director is expected to join the team. According to Yang Qingshan, chairman of Taiji Lake Group, this “eccentric genius” director has a strong interest in Taiji culture, has practiced Taiji for three years, and has already completed a preliminary concept for "The Legend of Taiji" during discussions. By collaborating with this international master, Yang Qingshan hopes to deliver to audiences a version of "The Legend of Taiji" that is “both authentically Chinese and globally minded, infused with a sense of technology,” breathing new life into the ancient culture of Taiji and sharing this precious piece of Chinese traditional heritage with the world.
