PIKO Taro & Taipei Guest House Make an Appearance – 2017 Sapporo Snow Festival a Huge Draw

Japan’s Hokkaido annual highlight, the Sapporo Snow Festival, kicked off in grand style on February 6th. This year, the Interchange Association, Japan (Taipei Office) presented a large ice sculpture of the Taipei Guest House—vibrant and dazzling—which attracted a crowd of locals and international tourists right from its unveiling. The 68th Sapporo Snow Festival officially began on the 6th, with Representative to Japan Shiota Nobuo also attending the event in person. The Taipei Guest House ice sculpture unveiled today stands out not only as a national historic site that blends Eastern and Western architectural aesthetics but also as the largest ice sculpture at the festival, carved from a total of 800 blocks—130 tons of ice.
