On June 29, 2014, the "UCC Sports Bicycles & Kenda & Zoom" Cup National Amateur Cycling League was successfully held at the Century Lotus Stadium in Foshan’s new urban district. Over 1,100 cycling enthusiasts took part, and the event drew several prominent domestic amateur cycling teams and elite riders. The competition reached a high level in both participation scale and competitive performance, making it a major cycling event in Foshan.

It is understood that this event was jointly organized by the Foshan Municipal Sports Bureau, the Foshan New City Management Committee (Lecong Town), and Guangzhou Global Bicycle Industry Co., Ltd., and was hosted by companies such as Reebike (Beijing) Trading Co., Ltd. and Sunshine Cycling Club. It is an officially approved high-level amateur cycling competition by the Chinese Cycling Association.

Since its inception in 2008, the UCC National Amateur Cycling League has been held in Guangdong Province for seven consecutive years, with previous stops in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and other cities. Both registration numbers and audience size have increased year by year. Preliminary statistics show that total registrations exceeded 8,000 participants, and on-site spectators surpassed 20,000, making it an annual highlight of Guangdong’s cycling scene. This marks the first time the UCC National Amateur League has come to Foshan, demonstrating strong recognition of the city’s growing cycling movement and excellent riding environment, as well as the organizers’ firm support for further boosting local cycling enthusiasm.

On the day of the race, cyclists from all walks of life gathered at Century Lotus Stadium. Despite the scorching heat, nothing could dampen everyone’s enthusiasm to compete. The event featured eight categories, and after a full day of intense racing, winners were crowned in every division.

The biggest highlight of the competition was undoubtedly the “PK250” mountain speed race. With only 32 spots available — similar to the World Cup — and requiring early registration within a limited time, this race had everyone on the edge of their seats, wondering who would claim the title of speed king. After four rounds of fierce competition, rider Su Ye emerged as the ultimate champion.

Additionally, the competition included a special club team event tailored for local Foshan cycling enthusiasts. This battle for the title of “Strongest in Foshan” sparked discussions within the cycling community for two full months, prompting many to form teams and sign up. In the end, the non-drop speed cycling club team outshined the rest, taking home the championship and dominating Foshan’s cycling scene.
Beyond the exciting professional races, the event also featured a variety of fun cycling activities as well as a “Low-Carbon Champions” group ride. A wealth of exciting experiences converged at Century Lotus, allowing attendees to fully enjoy the freedom and joy of cycling.

The organizer of this event, UCC Sports Bicycles, has remained committed over the past seven years to its core philosophy — green travel, low-carbon living, creating a cleaner environment, and promoting a healthier lifestyle. Alongside the overall improvement in competition standards, UCC, which focuses on sports bicycles and aims to lead the cycling lifestyle, has grown into a leading brand in the sport. It is believed that in the future, the UCC brand will continue to grow alongside the National Amateur League, reaching new heights and pursuing excellence on an even greater journey — the road ahead begins now!
