Located in Meinong District, Kaohsiung, Zhongzheng Lake was built in the 13th year of the Qianlong Emperor’s reign during the Qing Dynasty (1748), boasting a history of nearly 300 years. Here, you can take in the sweeping mountain ridges and crystal-clear lake, surrounded by lush and vibrant plant life. Additionally, from October to March each year, the area becomes home to a large number of migratory birds — over 60 species — making it an ideal spot for birdwatching and nature conservation. In 2016, environmental facilities around the lake and landscaping improvements on the eastern side were completed, connecting the entire loop trail and cycling paths. This allows visitors to fully enjoy the beautiful lake scenery.
