Hot Spring Foot Soaking in Cold Weather Is a Hit – Three Free Foot Soak Hot Springs

As the Lunar New Year holiday draws to a close and temperatures in northern Taiwan drop, Taipei City offers three free foot soak hot spring areas located in Beitou, allowing the public to soothe fatigue with a relaxing soak and promote healthy blood and meridian circulation.

Quanyuan Park Foot Soak Pool Area
Located along Zhuhai Road in Beitou District, the Quanyuan Park Foot Soak Pool Area features a 20-meter-long pool with source water temperature of around 70°C and a pH level of 1.5. The spring quality is similar to that of the nearby Green Sulfur Spring at Beitou Hot Spring Valley, also known as “acidic chloride-sulfate spring.” It is widely believed to be effective for chronic skin conditions, relieving joint and muscle soreness, and boosting metabolism.

After soaking your feet, you can take a stroll along the Old Hot Spring Street near Xinbeitou Station, exploring a series of attractions around the Beitou Creek, such as Beitou Park, Beitou Hot Spring Museum, Beitou Open-Air Hot Spring, Mei Ting, Beitou Library, Beitou Geothermal Valley, and Beitou Cultural and Creative Museum.

Located within the recreational area of Sulfur Valley in Yangmingshan National Park, the spring source temperature is about 50°C and the pH level is 5.0. The spring quality is classified as “acidic sulfate spring,” commonly referred to as “White Sulfur.” It is widely believed to have analgesic and anti-itching effects, and is particularly beneficial for chronic skin conditions, arthritis, and neuralgia.
