With the 228 Long Holiday underway, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications' National Freeway Bureau reports that there will be significant southbound traffic on the national highways, especially around four particularly congested sections. The congested sections and time periods include: National Freeway No. 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hukou-Xinzhu System and Changhua System-Puyan System, National Freeway No. 3 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Yingge System-Guanxi, and National Freeway No. 5 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Nangang System-Pinglin.

Freeway traffic management measures include high-occupancy vehicle restrictions on National Freeway No. 5 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, covering the southbound entrances at Nangang System, Shiding, and Pinglin; before 6:00 PM, the southbound entrance at Pingzhen System on National Freeway No. 1 will be closed. Due to continued rainfall in areas north of central Taiwan, congestion is expected to worsen. Travelers are advised to pay extra attention to following distance and stay updated on road conditions during the holiday.
