The stunning bald cypress scenery along the Annong River in Sanxing Township, Yilan County, has been praised as resembling “an idol drama filming location!” Coupled with online sharing and reposts, this hidden gem has gained significant fame. As winter approaches, the bald cypresses have transitioned from green to yellow.
The bald cypresses in Sanxing Township are located by the Annong River, near Tianxin Bridge. Thanks to the spread of photos, this secret spot has become an emerging tourist attraction. Not only are visitors flocking here, but some couples have even specifically chosen it as their wedding photo location.
Huang Xiyong, the Magistrate of Sanxing Township, stated that it is now the season when the bald cypresses begin to change and turn yellow. By the time the New Year is over and February arrives, the trees will not only be yellow but also display shades of red, creating an absolutely breathtaking view. However, by March, the leaves will start to fall, so visitors must seize the opportunity to witness the beauty. “The most beautiful time for the Sanxing bald cypresses starts right now!”
Huang Xiyong mentioned that although bald cypresses can be found in other places, Sanxing in Yilan offers better transportation convenience, allowing visitors to spend less time commuting. This year, the township office has created a flower sea next to the bald cypresses for the first time, which is expected to bloom on New Year’s Day. Additionally, aside from the bald cypresses, visitors can also head to the nearby Ganziakeng Bridge to admire blooming wild ginger flowers. This area is close to downtown Sanxing, making it convenient to also enjoy local delicacies, visit the Yaoyao Locko Horse Park, and explore the Tiansongpi Railway Station.
