The 2017 Yilan Green Expo was grandly held from April 1 to May 14 in the Eco Green Ark and surrounding areas near Dongshan Railway Station. This year’s theme, “Green. Setting Sail,” embodies green initiatives. In the face of food and environmental crises such as “precision food distribution justice,” “food waste,” “food safety,” “ecological biodiversity scarcity,” and “insufficient arable land,” the Green Expo has planned a variety of engaging and colorful participatory activities. The event offers a diverse range of participatory programs to help the public better understand the three-in-one concept of life (production, ecology, and living) at the Green Expo. These include experiences and workshops on seasonal diet pickles, rice culture through agri-food experiences, Yilan tea ceremonies, over ten types of eco-education and ecological experiences, and indigenous culture experiences. There’s also a spectacular 12-hectare land art area featuring edible landscapes, a 4.5-hectare Green Arena for local farming experiences, a clay oven (“q"窑”), and farm-to-table dining in the fields.

Additionally, a special Green Expo Fun Pass originally priced at NT$300 is being offered to encourage the public to embrace green living and care for the earth, while experiencing the Green Expo’s “delicious, beautiful, fun, and convenient” offerings.
