The first place I couldn’t wait to introduce after returning from Seoul
is AVEC EL SHOP & CAFE.
AVEC EL It all started as an online lifestyle clothing brand
run by Korean designer Rozi and her husband.
Then, in May two years ago, they opened
AVEC EL SHOP & CAFE, a curated café, dessert, and lifestyle shop,
on a hillside lane near their brand studio.
Its signature fruit latte series draws such long lines
even on regular weekdays
that locals – both men and women – willingly make the climb up the winding residential hillside.
This apple magic is sure to continue into 2017.

AVEC EL SHOP & CAFE is housed in a simple cottage you ascend via stone steps.
A white veil-like curtain subtly drapes over the floor-to-ceiling windows.
We always love such clean spaces with comforting natural light
and soft, ambient lighting accents.

One corner of the café showcases AVEC EL-branded lifestyle goods and apparel,
in harmony with the shop’s overall vibe.
In addition, you’ll find various plants, flower arrangements, and daytime candle holders thoughtfully placed by the owners.

AVEC EL SHOP & CAFE’s pink chiffon cake is topped with soft whipped cream,
simply adorned with a few frozen raspberries and green leaves,
then dusted with romantic sugar that falls like snow.
When you eat the raspberry chiffon cake together with the whipped cream, it’s mildly sweet, moist, and smooth.
