The cherry blossom season has kicked off in full swing, with renowned viewing spots and hidden gems across Taiwan bursting into bloom, sparking a wave of enthusiasm among blossom enthusiasts. Located in Sanxia, New Taipei City, the Xiongkong Cherry Blossom Forest spans over 20 hectares of mountainous terrain, planted with more than 30,000 cherry trees, and the entire forest is enveloped in layers of pink, creating a dreamy landscape that is in no way inferior to Japan’s famous cherry blossom spots. This woodland is privately owned, but the landowner generously allows visitors free access, attracting numerous tourists to come and admire the blossoms. The Xiongkong Cherry Blossom Forest is situated on a mountainside at an altitude of 500 meters. The landowner has spent 20 years cultivating the area, which features varieties such as Somei Yoshino, Yoshino cherry, Kawazu cherry, and Showa cherry. The current period is the best time for viewing, with the blooming season lasting until May.
