With cherry blossoms in full bloom during the peak season, a nationwide cherry blossom chasing craze has swept across the country. Beyond admiring cherry blossoms, golden yellow trumpet trees are also bursting into vibrant bloom all over Taiwan. Next to Fuyuan Junior High School in Hualien, there lies a visually stunning golden tunnel that, when set against the backdrop of emerald green mountains, showcases the beauty of the golden flower-lined avenue, making passersby want to stop and admire it. The golden yellow trumpet trees planted along both sides of the irrigation channel resemble a nature-inspired version of Paris’s Champs-Élysées, where vast green mountains and reflections in the water create a unique charm distinct from other golden tunnels.

The golden trumpet tree tunnel near Fuyuan Junior High School is part of the Taiwan Sugar Corporation’s eco-friendly forest boulevard. These trees were originally part of the Dafu Farm and were replanted here due to the widening of Highway 9. In addition to golden trumpet trees, there are also trees such as false sandalwood, green maple, and Taiwan incense cedar saplings. Since the flowering period of golden trumpet trees is short, visitors should seize the opportunity to admire this spectacular sight.
