Global coffeehouse chain Starbucks recently announced plans to open the world’s largest store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, USA. The company aims to complete the project in 2019, taking over the space previously occupied by home furnishing brand Crate & Barrel. The new four-story flagship store will span 1,200 pyeong (approximately 3,960 square meters), transforming Starbucks from just a coffee shop into a stylish destination akin to a museum. Customers will be able to purchase premium and rare coffee varieties, as well as witness the entire roasting process.

Officially named the Starbucks Reserve Roastery, this flagship store will offer Starbucks’ highest-end and most prized reserve coffees, along with a variety of light meals and desserts crafted by master roasters. With Chicago’s captivating nightlife as a backdrop, the store is highly anticipated by many travelers. This will be the third Reserve Roastery following those in Seattle and New York, also breaking the previous record for the planned world’s largest Starbucks store in China.
