Towering straight up, with large green canopies spreading overhead that intertwine to create beautiful shaded scenes — these are the distinctive features of the littleleaf mannii tree. Commonly used as a street tree in Taiwan, the littleleaf mannii not only provides greening and shade but also serves as urban landscaping, such as the Slin Green Tunnel in Pingtung, Provincial Highway 193 in Hualien, and Route 174 in Xuejia, Tainan. Located in Ximei Community Forest Park in Shanhua District, Tainan, this area has planted nearly 300 littleleaf mannii trees. Their tall, upright forms and dense foliage have earned it the nickname “Little Alishan Secret Spot.” Though the park covers only 0.5 hectares, the high density of towering trees gives the illusion of a sacred tree grove. The trunks stretch upward, and the branches spread out like umbrella canopies above, lush and green, creating a magical atmosphere.
