The golden, cluster-like flowers of the Albizia, native to India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, bloom in Taiwan around May to June. Their most distinctive feature is the long, drooping clusters of bright yellow blossoms that hang elegantly. When a breeze passes, the petals flutter down like confetti, creating a romantic scene reminiscent of a golden rain. The Albizia trees in the Hutoupi Scenic Area in Tainan were introduced from India and are planted along the entrance pathway. As you pass landmarks such as the Huyue Suspension Bridge, the coffee shop, the activity center, the waterside stage, and the Sanli Pavilion, the falling blossoms resemble a golden rain shower, covering the pathways as if paved with gold leaf — an absolutely breathtaking sight. This year’s Hutoupi Albizia Flower Season will begin on May 27 and continue until June 11. Visitors can start planning their romantic flower-viewing trip.
