There’s nothing more refreshing in summer than enjoying a lazy moment by the poolside. In Kamakura, Japan, there’s the world’s only Starbucks with a pool — a café renovated from the former home of manga artist Ryuichi Yokoyama. The pool has been preserved in its original form, offering visitors a nostalgic and delightful space to unwind.

The Starbucks Kamakura Mikagecho store was once the former residence of manga artist Ryuichi Yokoyama. After his passing, the original building was dismantled and relocated to his hometown in Kochi. The site retained the garden and the pool. To honor Yokoyama, Starbucks preserved the garden and pool, with the semi-outdoor pool being a favorite among visitors.

Although you can’t swim in the pool, sitting by its edge, feeling the summer breeze, or strolling through the spacious indoor area and garden offers a uniquely Kamakura experience.
