May's tung blossom season is in full swing, as "May snow" falls across Taiwan, covering the mountains and forests in pristine white, creating a stunningly beautiful scene. Miaoli is one of the key spots for the Hakka Tung Blossom Festival, including places like Nanzhuang, Shitan, Tongluo, and Sanwan Township. Just look up to see flowers bursting into bloom, while the ground is blanketed in fallen blossoms, like walking on a floral path — truly poetic. Below are aerial shots and photography of three tung blossom trails in Miaoli: the Shuangfengshan Cihui Hall Mountain Trail and Sky Bridge in Tongluo Township, and the Shenzhuo Mountain Tung Blossom Trail in Sanwan Township. Each offers snow-like blooms covering the forests and is among the best spots to admire the tung blossoms.

The Sky Bridge

The Tongluo Township Sky Bridge is a rare high-altitude cycling trail and an excellent spot for tung blossom viewing. Along the way, you can overlook tea plantations and the historic Salt-Carrying Ancient Trail, with expansive views, plus enjoy the visual feast of a sunset.

Shenzhuo Mountain Tung Blossom Trail

The not-so-high-altitude Shenzhuo Mountain Trail, with its pleasant shade and greenery, is a popular hiking route for locals. During the Tung Blossom Festival, the white blossoms along the mountain trail enhance the forest beauty, delighting visitors.
