Located right in front of JR Kyoto Station, KYOTO TOWER SANDO opened in mid-April after a complete renovation of the basement level 1 to the second floor inside the Kyoto Tower building. The newly renovated complex offers residents and tourists a key new alternative to street shops in the station district. With each floor featuring a different theme — from gourmet food to souvenirs — the three-story mall houses a total of 55 shops, and its surrounding convenience meets the various needs of both locals and visitors.
Opened in mid-April, KYOTO TOWER SANDO is a completely renovated space spanning the basement level 1 to the second floor inside the Kyoto Tower building.
After its renovation, KYOTO TOWER SANDO features different themes on each floor, offering everything from gourmet foods to souvenirs, with a total of 55 shops across three floors.
The basement level 1 is the Kyoto FOOD HALL, focusing on a food court with a rich variety of flavors. It gathers numerous popular local and trending eateries, offering around 400 seats for visitors to enjoy delicious meals. The first floor is the Souvenir MARKET, featuring Kyoto-themed gifts and crafts, including traditional Japanese sweets, pickles, cosmetics, and cafés — totaling 31 shops. The popular Japanese confectionery shop Kyoto Kitayama Malebranche is also located here, making it ideal for visitors who enjoy the old capital’s charm. The second floor is the Experience WORKSHOP, offering five creative workshops where visitors can try their hands at Kyoto-inspired experiences.
