Cathay Pacific’s “Jade Orb” Business Class Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport has recently completed its final design work. Covering an area of 3,306 square meters (approximately 1,000 tsubo), the lounge is 1,000 square meters larger than the previous space, can accommodate 550 passengers, and is the airline’s largest airport lounge.

The design concept of Jade Orb is rooted in the unique street life elements of Hong Kong, so you can see local touches like coffee carts and fast-food outlets interwoven into a rhythm of fast and slow living. Along the central corridor stretching over 120 meters, you can move through different zones offering light meals, freshly prepared dishes, noodles, and beverages; the extensive use of cherry wood, limestone, bronze, and other materials, paired with large floor-to-ceiling windows, also creates a relaxed atmosphere. Guests can enjoy their meals while admiring views of planes taking off and landing right by the window.

Cathay Pacific said the lounge is divided into several environments based on function. The Tasting Bar offers buffet-style bread, cold cuts, and hot dishes; the Leisure Bar serves a variety of alcoholic beverages. Among the more distinctive areas is the Flavour Bar, which operates like a restaurant and offers noodle dishes such as dan dan noodles and wonton noodles, along with dim sum; the Tea House, with its strong traditional Chinese flair, prepares 10 different types of tea and dim sum, allowing tea-loving guests to enjoy tea and interact with the tea masters on-site. For passengers needing rest, the end of the lounge features 14 shower rooms and a tranquil nook with dim lighting, housing over 20 recliners where travelers can take a nap or catch up on sleep after freshening up.

Cathay also noted that Jade Orb is not yet officially open to the public; once operational, access will be limited to Cathay first and business class passengers, as well as Marco Polo Club Silver tier and above members, and oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members.
