Taipei Park was established during the Japanese colonial period and is the oldest and largest park in Tainan City, spanning over 40,000 pyeong. It also functioned as a tropical experimental forest at the time, growing alongside the citizens of Tainan for a hundred years. Although much has changed, the scenery endures, and the city government has specially prepared a series of celebratory events for this regenerated park rich in cultural and historical value.

Among the highlights is the Japanese-style cascading waterfall, which was restored with the help of Japanese expert Mr. Yasuo Kitayama. After a century, the waterfall no longer looks exactly as it originally did, but the bluestones at its base still carry a century of history. The revitalized park has grown (and lives) together with the people. The significance of the water flow resuming on June 15 is to encourage visitors to come in with their hearts, cherish, and protect it—so that in 30 years, the waterfall will be even more beautiful.

To allow visitors to celebrate this centennial park while also exploring nearby attractions such as the 321 Art Lane creative hub, Tainan Cultural and Creative Industries Park, and the upcoming cotton blossom-lined Dongfeng Road... and other sights, the tourism bureau has specially collaborated with travel agencies and hotels to launch the “Taipei Park Centennial Celebration Special Package.” This combines Tainan’s attractions, local snacks, and unique alleyways into one-day or two-day tour packages.
