Marvel heroes gather at Hong Kong Disneyland – Wang Renfu and his son team up with Spider-Man

This year marks the prelude to the Marvel era at Hong Kong Disneyland. Following the huge success of the “Iron Man Experience” launched earlier this year, the park continues to roll out more Marvel-themed attractions and events, establishing Hong Kong Disneyland as a must-visit destination for Marvel fans. The brand-new “Marvel Summer Super Heroes” event, running from June 14 to September 3, allows guests staying at resort hotels to enjoy a variety of entertainment activities, take on the “Marvel Crisis Protocol Mission,” meet two newly joined superheroes—Spider-Man and Captain America—and experience the “Iron Man Experience,” fulfilling superhero dreams for the whole family.

Additionally, from July 1 to September 3, the park will specially create a “Training Certificate” for every guest from Taiwan, recognizing them as agents who have completed a series of training as part of the “Marvel Summer Super Heroes.” Today (12th), Spider-Man also flew in from Hong Kong to Taipei to conduct warm-up training in advance with Wang Renfu and his son YAYA, sharing the coolest summer superhero travel plans ever.

Taiwan has always been an important international market for Hong Kong Disneyland, with visitor numbers from Taiwan consistently ranking high among international markets. Families often visit Hong Kong specifically for the park or include a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland as a key part of their itinerary. In addition to offering the most classic and beloved Disney rides, Hong Kong Disneyland continuously introduces popular and trending themed attractions. Capitalizing on the global craze for Marvel superheroes, this year has been designated the Marvel Super Heroes Year, featuring a series of themed activities—including this summer’s “Marvel Summer Super Heroes” and the Marvel-themed fun run “Marvel 10K Weekend 2017” this September.

Following the “Marvel Summer Super Heroes” event, Hong Kong Disneyland will launch the “Marvel 10K Weekend 2017” running event this September to fully inspire guests' athletic potential. The park race includes four events: the Captain America 10K Run for those looking to test their endurance; the Thor 5K Run to help athletes unleash lightning-fast power; the Spider-Man 3K Run for fun-filled family moments; and a kids’ run where young participants can showcase their energy. Special spots for Taiwanese guests have been reserved for the 3K, 5K, and 10K runs, and participants can also purchase packages that include stays at the “Disney Explorers Lodge.” Registration is open until June 30.

Hong Kong Disneyland has collaborated exclusively with Marvel to launch a limited-edition Marvel comic book available only in the park: “Iron Man Experience: Hong Kong Heroes #1.” Set in Hong Kong, the story introduces a new superhero and follows Iron Man and other heroes as they team up to fight evil forces trying to steal a mysterious artifact housed in the Hong Kong Stark Expo.
