Due to the influence of the southwest airflow, strong gusts of 9 to 10 on the Beaufort scale will occur in areas north of central Taiwan, southeastern Taiwan (including Green Island and Orchid Island), as well as coastal and open areas of Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, along with adjacent sea regions. Higher winds and waves are also expected in coastal areas. Please stay alert.
The impact of this frontal system will continue until around June 20. The Central Weather Bureau has issued torrential rain and heavy rain special warnings for 18 counties and cities, including Taipei, New Taipei, and Keelung. Although the warning level is not as severe as the previous one (June 3–4, which included extremely heavy and super heavy rain), sudden and intense rainfall should not be underestimated. The heaviest rainfall is expected from Friday to Sunday, so extra caution is advised when going out.
