The lotus season at Riverside Park in New Taipei City has officially begun. The lotuses at the Xin Hai III Constructed Wetland near Xinyue Bridge in Banqiao District and the Sanchong Lotus Park are eagerly showcasing their vibrant blooms. The graceful and picturesque lotus flowers also exude a delicate, swaying charm, attracting many photography enthusiasts to capture their beauty. Now is the prime time to admire the lotuses.

The lotus blooming period in northern Taiwan typically runs from June to August. The lotuses at the Xin Hai III Constructed Wetland and Sanchong Lotus Park will remain in full bloom until the end of July. New Taipei City has integrated wetlands into urban landscapes, not only providing a serene setting in the heart of the city but also planting water-purifying vegetation such as lotuses, water bamboo, and cattails—plants known for their “rising unsullied from the mud” qualities—to enhance water quality.
