The lively and diverse Zhengxing Street commercial area is a must-visit spot for many tourists coming to Tainan, and it has recently become even more vibrant. The first-ever Zhengxing Container Market, organized by Biyang Plaza, opened in July, covering an area of 250 ping and featuring 13 colorful containers. It has brought in 14 brands, combining local cultural elements with a youthful vibe to create the latest trendy literary and artistic container market. Ever since its opening, it has drawn large crowds and become a new popular check-in destination.
Not only does Kaohsiung have a container market — now Tainan’s Zhengxing Street commercial area has one too. It brings together food, fashion, and art, with each stall housed in a container of just over two ping. From domestic to international brands, each offers its own unique flair. These include the world’s smallest Eslite Bookstore “Eslite Youth Store,” Tainan’s famous traditional drink shop “Da Shui Gang,” the Palace Museum’s pop-up “My Citrus Shop,” Monster Drinking Bar, and the French restaurant “Start Boulangerie.”
