Travelers who love visiting Japan should be aware of not only the new checked baggage regulations recently announced by Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, but also new adjustments from budget airlines. Vanilla Air recently announced on its official website that starting from October 29, 2017, it has revised its carry-on baggage regulations. The maximum size of carry-on luggage allowed in the cabin has been changed from the original 56 cm × 36 cm × 23 cm to 55 cm × 40 cm × 25 cm, and the total combined weight allowance for two pieces has been reduced from the original 10 kg to 7 kg.
Vanilla Air Announces New Carry-On Baggage Regulations
In addition to new regulations for carry-on suitcases, Vanilla Air also announced that starting from October 29, the payment handling fee has been adjusted from the original NT$180 to NT$210, an increase of NT$30. Travelers planning to visit Japan, or those who have already purchased tickets for flights after October 29, need to pay extra attention to the information regarding luggage weight limits.
