Historic Tainan, known as the ancient capital of culture and history and the city of gourmet food, boasts rich, diverse, and uniquely advantageous tourism resources. In addition to its historical sites, snacks, and historic buildings, the coastal areas of Tainan offer breathtaking scenery. Here are four coastal spots recommended for you: Tainan’s own version of Kenting, a mangrove ecosystem, and a stunning fishing harbor. The combination of natural landscapes and cultural industries makes travel in Tainan even more exciting.

1. Fisherman's Light Island
 
Located in Tainan, Fisherman's Light Island is a small independent island southwest of Anping District, connected to Anping via the Fisherman's Light Bridge. This tranquil beach was once a hidden gem known only to a few, but with the viral spread of its land art, the crescent-shaped bay—nicknamed Fisherman's Light Island—has transformed into an open-air exhibition space. With its stunning sunsets and spectacular installations, the island now draws numerous internet celebrities, influencers, photography lovers, and an increasing number of surfers.

2. Luchu Harbor
 
Luchu Harbor was once one of the three major fishing harbors in Tainan City, though it has since declined. Most fishing boats here are now motorized rubber rafts, making it the city’s largest harbor for such vessels. The evening glow here is dazzlingly beautiful, with golden light dyeing the entire sea surface—a view that can easily rival that of famous spots like the Qigu Lagoon.

3. Shuangchun Coastal Recreation Area – Golden Sand Beach
 
Golden Sand Beach is located within the Vanaheim Love Manor in the Shuangchun Coastal Recreation Area. It features a rare, straight and spectacular sandy beach stretching 6 kilometers along Taiwan’s coast. Years of wave erosion have left the sand fine, clean, and glistening with a light golden hue under the sun—absolutely beautiful.
