With summer temperatures soaring, the lotus blooming season in the highland areas has also arrived. Typically, the peak flowering period for lotuses in northern Taiwan is from July to August. The lotuses at the Lujiaoxi Artificial Wetland in Shulin are currently in full bloom. As one of the certified environmental education sites, Lujiaoxi Artificial Wetland is very close to the city center, resembling a hidden paradise. For those looking to enjoy the scenery or take a stroll, early morning or evening are the best times to visit.

Additionally, Butterfly Park, situated on the left bank of the Xindian River’s highland area between Huacui Bridge and Guangfu Bridge, has20100,000 flowers planted.

The floral varieties include scarlet sage, purple salvia, salvias, marguerites, beauty-of-the-night, peacock flower, red leaf cockscomb, and summer snapdragon, among over ten other types. These vibrant blooms decorate the “wings” of the butterfly landscape, creating a striking visual. Visitors can walk up to the viewing platform on the embankment to take in the full view of Butterfly Park.
