The ‘Elephant Group Special Exhibition’ is a carefully curated summer showcase by the National Museum of Natural Science, featuring hundreds of exquisite elephant fossils and rare, seldom-seen elephant skeletons on full display for visitors. Exhibition themes include: “The Rise of Elephants,” “Among the Many Elephants,” “Facts About Elephants,” “The Rise and Fall of Elephants,” and “Elephants in Taiwan.”

The replicated skeleton of the Palaeoloxodon antiquus in the Sunlight Corridor—its original fossil specimen used for production and the rare fossil treasures preserved in the collection storage—are unveiled to the public for the first time in their authentic form. This is a visually stunning feast of elephant fossils, allowing us to witness the rise and fall of “elephant groups” throughout their evolutionary journey, to experience the rich knowledge and mysteries of evolution they bring, and to understand that “elephant groups” need more of our attention and protection.
