Go to Macau travel attention！ The Macau Tourism Board issued a reminder that starting from November 1, 2017, according to the "Regulations on the Control of Carrying Cash and Bearer Negotiable Instruments In and Out of the Territory," any person entering Macau with cash or bearer negotiable instruments such as checks exceeding MOP 120,000 (approximately TWD 450,000) must declare it to customs. Failure to do so may result in a fine ranging from MOP 1,000 to MOP 500,000.

The declaration requirement does not include gold or other precious metals and gemstones, and transit passengers making a brief stopover in the Macau SAR are also not required to make a declaration. The implementation of the declaration system will not restrict, hinder, or prohibit the legal flow of funds into or out of Macau.

After the law takes effect, travelers entering or leaving only need to comply with the relevant declaration requirements. In response to the new measures, customs will launch a series of promotional and awareness campaigns to ensure that travelers and residents are fully informed, guaranteeing effective enforcement of the law.
