Another major shopping mall is coming to Xinyi District. Developed through a collaboration between Breeze Group, Mitsui & Co., and JR East Japan’s ATRE, the new Breeze atre (微风南山) shopping mall is set to open. Regular travelers to Japan will likely be familiar with ATRE, which operates large retail complexes inside many major train stations. The Breeze南山 complex will cover an area of approximately 16,000 ping (about 52,800 m²), with ATRE operating around 2,722 ping (about 8,990 m²) of that space. The mall is expected to house over 200 stores, with ATRE taking up about 50 counters and shops. The grand opening is planned for the fall of 2018, in the third quarter.

ATRE, a subsidiary of JR East Japan, has partnered with Mitsui & Co. to establish ATRE INTERNATIONAL (AICO). AICO then co-invested with Breeze Group to form Breeze atre Holding, with Breeze Group holding a 60% stake. Through this collaboration, the appeal and success of Japanese brands and retail management will be further leveraged. This marks ATRE’s first overseas venture and flagship project, promising a fresh shopping experience for consumers who love Japanese-style retail and for visitors to the bustling Xinyi District.
