Keelung's First Dedicated Bike Lane, 4.2 km Long, Fully Open

Keelung City’s first bicycle-only lane, the “Bicycle Path Coastal Branch Line Network Connection Project,” is expected to be completed by the end of August. The entire route spans 4.2 km and is set to open for public use in mid-September. The total budget for this branch line is approximately NT$12 million. Construction began last November, with the starting point located behind the old Fishermen's Association building on Zhongzheng Road. The route passes the Nostalgic Wharf, then continues from Zhengbin Road to Heping Bridge, entering Heping Island and Heping 1st Road Lane 2, also known as Fish Market Avenue.

Connecting She Liau Bridge to National Taiwan Ocean University, the bike path links up with Taiwan’s nationwide round-island cycling route. Along the way, it passes through Bitou Fishing Port, Bajiaoshi Fishing Port, the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, and Chaojing Park, connecting with the Northeast Coast scenic area. Cyclists can enjoy sea views in a relaxing and carefree manner.
