Japanese tourism has introduced robot check-ins, and now this trend has spread to Singapore, where robots assist with room service and cater to all the needs of guests. Future room service — including delivering meals — may no longer be handled by waiters pushing carts.

Singapore’s M Social Hotel recently launched robot room service. This hotel targets business travelers with its modern style and decor, paired with robots serving guests to deliver a unique travel experience. The robot named AURA provides towel and water delivery services, and it even knows how to use the elevator — a truly surprising feature.

M Social Hotel is the first in Southeast Asia to use robot services, aiming to enhance the quality of hotel stays. Though AURA is a robot, it is sleek and stylish. It can independently take the elevator to find the assigned room and notify guests upon arrival.

Although robots have started being used in the tourism industry, an M Social Hotel spokesperson stated that this does not mean robots will fully replace human staff. Robots are mainly used for room service, allowing human employees to work more efficiently and focus on other areas.
