The National Palace Museum has encouraged the public to visit museums more often and enhance cultural appreciation. Since September 2016, it has offered free admission to visitors with ID cards after 4:30 PM, receiving an enthusiastic response. Due to a significant increase in visitor numbers during the implementation period, to further promote museum visits, this preferential measure has been extended until December 31, 2018 (Year 107 in Taiwan’s calendar).

In addition, the free admission in the afternoon for residents of Chiayi County at the Southern Branch of the Palace Museum has also been extended. If you want to visit both museums at once, before the end of this year, purchasing a ticket for either the Northern or Southern Branch allows you to visit the other branch free of charge within three months using your ticket stub.

The Southern Branch of the Palace Museum has been open for nearly two years, but the excitement has not been as high as before. Through the concept of “one Palace Museum, two branches,” it aims to attract more people to historical treasures. The Southern Branch will launch the “Tong’an Ship and Wang Delu Exhibition” in September and the “Indian Culture Month” in October. Take advantage of the offer to visit.
