The Hunger Games and Twilight-themed movie scenes: Asia welcomes another world-class film park

Universal Studios is one of the must-do activities for many tourists visiting places like Japan, the US, and Singapore, often leaving visitors reluctant to leave. In addition to Universal, Jeju Island in South Korea is also set to build a brand-new movie-themed amusement park featuring scenes from The Hunger Games, Twilight, and Saw.

This brand-new movie-themed amusement park will be developed by Lionsgate Films and located within “Jeju Shinhwa World,” covering an area of over 120,000 square meters.

“Jeju Shinhwa World,” an Asian luxury resort destination built with an innovative concept, is set to open in phases this October. It will integrate a theme park, food streets, duty-free shops, resort apartments, and villas. The resort has also enlisted G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong) as its brand ambassador and designed a GD Café within the resort. Additionally, in collaboration with YG Entertainment, the resort will feature “YG Town,” an entertainment hub combining celebrity stores, K-pop performances, and trendy leisure experiences.

Covering approximately 2.5 million square meters, Jeju Shinhwa World has been gradually opening since 2017. Upon completion in 2019, it will become one of South Korea’s largest integrated resorts. The park includes seven themed zones based on mythology, 20 amusement facilities, a water park, a spa center, and a shopping and dining complex. There will also be high-end hotels with over 2,000 rooms, exhibition and conference facilities, along with around 1,500 private luxury villas. The diverse offerings aim to cater to various visitor needs, ensuring all guests can enjoy a fulfilling holiday experience.
