Motorists traveling on Highway No. 1 between Taipei and Keelung may have noticed a large microphone-shaped bridge in the direction of Xizhi. In fact, this bridge has a poetic name: "Starlight Bridge." Following the Crescent Moon Bridge, the Starlight Bridge is a new river-crossing scenic bridge built by New Taipei City Government for pedestrians and cyclists. Toward the end of summer, the New Taipei City Water Resources Bureau and Lamigo Namicoo Banquet Plaza jointly organized the "New Taipei Starlight Bridge Music Party" to promote local waterfront culture and offer the public a high-quality outdoor concert on summer nights. The event made its dazzling debut at 5:30 p.m. on September 9 at the Starlight Bridge in Xizhi.

The event featured performances by "Good Friends," the Kiwi Chinese Orchestra, and the Soochow University Department of Chinese Literature Choir (SCCL CHOIR), arranged by Lamigo. From classic oldies and Taiwanese folk songs to pop hits, the weekend night was filled with beautiful melodies, also illuminating Xizhi’s landmark — the shiniest microphone around.
Since its official opening, the Starlight Bridge not only connects New Taipei City’s riverside bicycle paths but also integrates regional cultural elements and landscape ecology, providing a more comfortable and diverse recreational space to drive development in surrounding communities. At night, when viewed from afar, the Starlight Bridge looks like a striking, glowing microphone — becoming a popular new photo spot for visitors in recent years.

The ensemble includes music graduates, professional musicians, and elite traditional Chinese music players from school clubs, all seasoned winners of music competitions. The orchestra’s mission is to nurture young talent, provide diverse performance opportunities, and through various performance formats, promote traditional Chinese music as a model to encourage private sector support for the art form.

To enrich the concert experience and allow the audience to enjoy a picnic while listening to music, the New Taipei City Water Resources Bureau also invited local Xizhi establishments to sponsor red turtle cakes | and offered unique local drinks. The area was also equipped with tables and chairs, allowing attendees to enjoy delicious food, chat, and immerse themselves in the music. The combination of food, scenery, and music created an unforgettable evening.
