The National Day fireworks show is an important event celebrating Double Ten National Day, but it has been canceled multiple times in recent years due to natural disasters and major accidents. This year, the National Day fireworks have been reinstated and are being launched in Taitung County for the first time. This grand event also aims to assist Taitung’s post-disaster tourism development following last year’s typhoon. The show will take place from 7:00 PM to 7:36 PM on October 10th, lasting a total of 36 minutes, and will be held on the southern embankment at the mouth of the Beinan River.

This year’s National Day fireworks are divided into six major themes: Primal, Wings, Perseverance, Harmony, Peace, and Nationhood. A total of 22,000 fireworks will be launched, with each theme accompanied by music for six minutes. The fireworks come in six sizes: 3T, 6T, 8T, 10T, 12T, and 24T, with launch heights ranging from 60 meters to 600 meters. Additionally, 24T high-altitude fireworks will be launched for the first time in Taiwan.

In addition, Taitung County Government has launched the “Double Ten Fireworks & Hot Air Balloon Project,” hosting the “Hot Air Balloon Fireworks Carnival” on October 10th and 11th at Taitung Forest Park. Those who stay at a licensed accommodation for two nights or more during the specified National Day holiday period may have the chance to experience a free tethered hot air balloon ride.
