The “Central Taiwan Film Center” is a key venue for major film and television events in Central Taiwan. Events such as the “Taichung International Animation Festival,” film premieres, special screenings, and themed film exhibitions are all held here. In addition, to enhance the richness and diversity of digital content, the Taichung City Government has collaborated with the Ministry of Culture to incorporate ACG (Animation, Comics, and Games) industry content. This initiative integrates ACG with film and television culture to boost overall industry competitiveness and provide residents and international comics enthusiasts with a more diverse range of visual content.

The Taichung City Information Bureau has planned and promoted the “Central Taiwan Film Promotion Park” project, which consists of two parts: the “Central Taiwan Film and Television Base” in Wufeng District, which offers filming and production functions, and the “Central Taiwan Film Center” in the Waterfront Smart City, which provides collection, screening, exhibition, and leisure functions. The National Comics Museum will be located in the latter. These two important cultural and entertainment industry-related constructions will be integrated in the future to connect the upstream and downstream of the film and television industry chain and will also become tourist attractions. The Central Taiwan Film Center is scheduled for completion by the end of 2018.
