With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, 23 designated areas in Taipei’s riverside parks will be opened for visitors to enjoy barbecues during the holiday. The city also encourages visitors to celebrate in traditional, healthy, low-carbon ways such as tea tasting to create a warm festive atmosphere. If you do plan to barbecue at the riverside parks, please show public spirit by not littering and help keep the environment clean.

Taipei’s riverside parks already have designated areas for barbecues and picnics on a regular basis. For the Mid-Autumn Festival, 16 additional designated areas will be opened, bringing the total number of barbecue zones available this year to 23. For the 16 areas opened specifically for the festival, visitors should note the operating hours: from 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3 (the day before the festival) to midnight on Wednesday, October 4.

Due to construction work this year, two areas will be temporarily closed — “North Side Arch Underneath Huashan Bridge” and “Unused Idle Space Underneath Huashan Bridge – Plaza near Bridge Piers P12 and P24 on the Right Bank of Xindian River Underneath Huashan Bridge.” Visitors can still barbecue at the “Downstream Side Round Plaza” in Huashan Riverside Park or at the designated area underneath Guangfu Bridge.
