Desert wonders can be found in Taiwan too — the Cactus Garden is the new IG hotspot

Taiwan has different beautiful scenery all year round. In addition to the ever-changing vibrant flower seas, succulent plants are incredibly healing and can be enjoyed in any season. Located in Changhua, the Countryside Highway Garden features a wide variety of flowers, including the Rural Cactus Garden, which has lush expanses of cacti that have sparked a social media photo-taking craze.

The Rural Cactus Garden not only has adorable and soothing small cactus potted plants but also many large cacti, allowing you to take photos with a uniquely American desert style. The garden is carefully maintained by an elderly gentleman, who asks visitors to avoid damaging the site.

The Countryside Highway Garden is spread along Provincial Highway No. 1, spanning the gardens of Tianwei and Yongjing townships, and features a rich diversity of flowers. In addition to the Rural Cactus Garden, there are several other themed gardens. Changhua is a typical agricultural county and Taiwan’s largest flower production area, offering a wide range of flowers, exotic plants, and gardening supplies for sale. The peak tourist season for the highway gardens runs from December to February each year.
