See Brazil’s Carnival in Taiwan – Don’t miss this dazzling parade, or wait till next year

The passionate and vibrant Brazilian Carnival is a world-renowned grand celebration, where sizzling samba dancers and other stunning floats leave unforgettable memories for all who attend. Now you don’t have to fly to Brazil to experience it — the 15th Taipei “Dream Carnival” parades through the streets in the style of South American samba carnivals. In addition to elaborately costumed troupes, there are exciting performances and magnificent giant floats, bringing the most festive afternoon to Taipei.

To allow visitors to appreciate international cultural diversity from different perspectives, the Dream Carnival combines Taiwanese characteristics to showcase local culture. Many local communities guided by the Dream Community Cultural and Educational Development Foundation — including indigenous tribes, Hakka villages, farming villages, and fishing villages — will bring artful giant puppets to life and interact with the public, regardless of age. The event also invites over 40 groups from the United States, Vietnam, India, Tokyo, Okinawa, mainland China, and Bali to join in the fun. Furthermore, outstanding samba drum teams from across the country will deliver stirring beats, presenting Taiwanese audiences with uniquely spectacular performances.

The event was initially launched by the Xizhi Dream Community. Out of love for Taiwan and deep affection for their hometown, the organizers set out to create a “participatory community,” integrating celebratory arts, playfulness, creativity, courage, and passion into daily life. This aims to spark residents’ anticipation for beautiful things and inspire them to dare to dream.
