The ITF Taipei Travel Fair, a major event in Asian tourism, kicked off on October 27. Organizers have gathered tourism bureaus from various countries, tourism promotion agencies, airlines, county and city governments, and travel agencies, all of which are pulling out all the stops to launch the most exciting marketing programs and offers. This gives consumers the chance to purchase the most competitive travel packages while enjoying high-quality festival events, further enhancing the ITF’s strength and appeal as a sales-driven exhibition.

China AirlinesTo celebrate the good news of the launch of the Taipei–London route starting December 1 and increased flights on the Australia–New Zealand routes, the travel fair will feature staff dressed as British Royal Guards to give visitors a taste of British charm, as well as Wonder Woman and Batman from Warner Bros. Movie World in Queensland, Australia, for photo opportunities. Notably, on the opening day, October 27, the “China Airlines Cheerleaders CI Beauties” will kick off the festivities with an energetic dance performance at the China Airlines booth. At 12:00 on opening day, the cheerleaders will also distribute limited-edition ITF travel fair non-woven tote bags co-produced by China Airlines and the Taiwan Tourism Bureau. Additionally, those looking to snag discounted airfares can find exclusive flight deals at the travel fair.
Mandarin AirlinesIt has specially launched the “Mandarin Airlines Happy Hot Spring Season” campaign, featuring travel fair-exclusive promotions such as a three-day hot spring trip to Taitung’s Happy Hot Springs for NT$3,999, a one-day gourmet tour in Kinmen’s Golden Happiness for NT$2,299, a three-day stay at the Four Points by Sheraton in Penghu for NT$4,999, and a three-day autumn tour of Taroko in Hualien for NT$3,999. In line with the “Mandarin Airlines Happy Hot Spring Season” campaign, during the travel fair, visitors who come to the Mandarin Airlines booth, hold up a sign reading “#Mandarin Airlines Happy Hot Spring Season,” take a photo with the booth, and upload it online can receive exquisite gifts such as limited-edition handmade soap and travel storage bags.
Hong Kong AirlinesFor 2017 ITF, the booth has been specially designed to resemble a retro ice cream parlor, exuding a strong Hong Kong vibe and conveying the brand spirit of “This is Hong Kong, right now!” It also shares the news that Hong Kong Airlines will officially launch its Los Angeles route starting December 18, its second destination in North America after Vancouver. This new route will be operated by Hong Kong Airlines’ Airbus A350 aircraft, offering passengers a more spacious and comfortable flying experience.
Japan AirlinesIt will set up a Boeing 787 model aircraft display and a large Shinkansen model exhibition area. The booth will also feature a Tokyo Disney Resort photo zone and a Japan Tobu Railway special area. The JR East Japan booth will showcase Japanese railway bento boxes and mini Shinkansen models, filling the exhibition space with joy and fun. There will also be daily chances to win various exclusive giveaways.
ANAAll Nippon AirwaysRelated promotions and lucky draw activities have already begun in full swing. Participate in daily stage activities and quiz contests, play Jenga with the flight attendants, and you could win an ANA plush airplane-shaped phone stand.
Air CanadaDuring the travel fair, purchase a ticket for a chance to win tickets to the Air Canada-sponsored Mayday “Life Tour” concert in Canada (Toronto show on November 26). The travel fair also offers experiences such as viewing the aurora borealis in Canada, exploring the Rocky Mountains, traveling across the U.S. and Canada, and combined land, sea, and air itineraries featuring cruises and glacier-viewing trains. Group tour fees can be discounted by up to NT$10,000 per person, and participants registering for tours may also win a chance to experience a double happiness aurora tour in Yellowknife (including round-trip airfare for two and an aurora tour itinerary in Yellowknife).
TransAsia AirwaysThis year, in addition to promoting its new routes to o_ (likely New Chitose) and Akita, TransAsia also collaborates with o_ Prefecture and Akita Prefecture to host a “Fly TransAsia to Japan” questionnaire and lucky draw event at its Taipei International Travel Fair booth. Participants can receive eco-friendly bags commemorating the first anniversary of the o_ route or gifts provided by Akita and o_. Daily at 5:00 p.m., there will be a lucky draw at the booth with chances to win major prizes such as international and domestic flight tickets, as well as local specialties from o_ and Akita.

Korea Tourism OrganizationThere will be performances all four days. In addition to the traditional dance drama “Lotus, Blooming Again” by Jeongdong Theater, telling the love story of a king, queen, lotus, and general, there will also be a “KPOP Dance Lesson” where dance instructors from Korea’s HAERA teach the dances of this year’s hottest idol groups and singers. On October 28 at 3:00 p.m. and October 29 at 2:00 p.m., skiing experts will deliver exciting ski lectures.
