2017 was the first year of "LucFest: The Walkers' Music Festival." The "2017 Tainan City Music Festival," jointly organized by White Wabbit Records, 9-Kick, and the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau, connected indoor and outdoor performances. While scheduling shows, the festival also considered the routes taken by audiences, industry professionals from around the world, and performing bands as they explored Tainan, turning the entire city into the stage for both the 2017 Tainan City Music Festival and LucFest: The Walkers' Music Festival.

Unlike large-scale outdoor music festivals that build fan pilgrimages around "big-name acts, huge venues, and massive crowds," showcase festivals focus more on industry connections, information exchange, and resource sharing. The greatest joy and value of attending a showcase lie in discovering new and great music together with discerning talent scouts, curators, and industry professionals.
In addition to inviting music festival talent scouts, labels, and media from around the world to hold various forums and lectures in Tainan, "LucFest: The Walkers' Music Festival" also adopted a talent scout system, inviting scouts to curate performance lineups featuring three bands each. This allows fans to not only discover great music but also gain a deeper understanding of the evolution and pulse of Taiwan's independent music scene through the perspectives of the scouts.

The first wave of performing bands includes Sad To Die, Deerhoof ∞ Veda, 55, 88balaz, Mary Bite Kelly, Fragile Girl Group, Drift Out, Leighton Dog, LAC La Park, Inspriative, Phum Viphurit, and others, which have been successively announced on the Tainan City Music Festival official website.
