On the first day of the Lunar New Year in 2017, the "Manhattanhenge" phenomenon appeared on the streets of Kaohsiung, attracting many photography enthusiasts who rushed to capture the scene. Youth Road was flooded with crowds, leading to traffic congestion. This year, the second "Manhattanhenge" will take place on the evening of November 12th on Youth Road. To help photography enthusiasts better capture the scenic view, the Kaohsiung City Government has specially organized the "2017 Photography Masters · Kaohsiung’s Finest" event, and has implemented partial street closures.

The event will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the same day, with partial road closures on the fast lane of Youth Road between Minquan Road and Guanghua Road. Dumplings and tasting vouchers will also be provided on-site for everyone to enjoy for free, serving as a warm-up for this year’s Tourism Bureau’s “Warm Winter in Kaohsiung” campaign.

The "Manhattanhenge" phenomenon in New York, USA, refers to the moment when the setting sun aligns perfectly between two glass skyscrapers, casting golden hues that turn the streets into a fairytale-like golden boulevard, resembling a movie scene. On that day, visitors holding a specially designed handheld sign from the Tourism Bureau or those who have taken photos of the "Manhattanhenge," and upload them to their Facebook or Instagram social media accounts, can show the uploaded photos on-site to exchange them for dumplings with the staff. The first 30 people in line can also receive one voucher for a taste of Japanese-style pan-fried dumplings.
