Welcome Song Joong Ki’s Stay at Mandarin Oriental Taipei: Unveiling the “5 Big Surprises”

Korean superstar Song Joong Ki visited Taiwan to hold a fan meeting and chose to stay in the Mandarin Suite at Mandarin Oriental Taipei. To allow the star to personally experience Taiwan’s warmth and thoughtful service, the hotel prepared five special surprises in his room. Among them were a panda plush toy dressed in the handsome military uniform from the drama “Descendants of the Sun” and an 8-kilogram luxury mega mango shaved ice, both of which thrilled Song Joong Ki immensely.

Mandarin Oriental Taipei prepared five surprises for Song Joong Ki, who was staying for the first time:

1. A specially tailored panda plush toy dressed in the handsome military uniform from the drama “Descendants of the Sun,” which is said to have been loved by the superstar.

2. Learning that Song Joong Ki loves Taiwanese mangoes, Mandarin Oriental Taipei specially made an 8-kilogram luxury mega mango shaved ice, which was delivered to his room upon his arrival and immediately brought a look of surprise to Song Joong Ki.

3. The hotel’s French executive pastry chef Gregory Doyen put his creativity to work, drawing inspiration from “Descendants of the Sun” to craft a large chocolate art sculpture symbolizing prosperity, whose magnificent appearance was truly eye-catching.

4. Mandarin Oriental Taipei also prepared an exclusive Italian Frette bathrobe embroidered with Song Joong Ki’s Chinese name as a gift.

5. To allow Song Joong Ki to enjoy a variety of quintessentially Taiwanese fruits, General Manager Shih Chun-yen specially prepared a selection of island fruits including bananas, grapes, dragon fruit, and i* citrus, paired with Ruinart champagne for the star to try.
