Taichung Ice Cream Recommendation: 2 in one Ice Cream Specialty Store

The first time I visited "2 in one Ice Cream Specialty Store," I was a little taken aback because I always thought it would be some trendy, fashion-forward ice cream shop…(since it has an English name, ya know? XD)

But after just one visit, you’ll fall in love too—besides the auntie being super warm and friendly, the healthy desserts are so good I’d even let a kid have some (in moderation, of course)!

"2 in one Ice Cream Specialty Store" is located on Datan 14th Street in Nantun District. Normally, I’d never go all the way to Nantun just for a cup of ice cream… But that day, after lunching with friends at "Salt & Pepper" and facing the blazing heat, we swung by on the way home for a refreshing treat…

The shop doesn’t seem to have seating, so everyone just buys their ice cream and finds a spot to sit under the arcade—whether you’re alone or with friends, you can happily enjoy your frozen treat.

When we arrived, there weren’t many customers yet. I told little Cherry to call the owner “auntie,” but she coolly replied, “Call me grandma!!” Hahaha—she loves playing old!

At "2 in one Ice Cream Specialty Store," ordering works like this: first pick your slushie flavor, then choose an ice cream scoop from the display case… and the total is just $45 NT dollars!! That’s right… only $45!! What a steal, right? (Especially after paying $200 for another ice dessert before!)

There’s also a list on the wall showing how other ice treats are priced—worth checking out if you’re curious… Especially on the 21st of every month, when the Daily Ice Cream Series is just $21 per cup… (Let’s meet up at the store again on the 21st this month!)

It’s said that the ingredients at "2 in one Ice Cream Specialty Store" are seasonal fruits handpicked by the owner every morning from the market, so the flavors change daily… And when we were undecided, the auntie generously offered us samples to try!! ^^

That’s the magical ice-making machine that makes both ice cream and slushies at the same time!! We even got to peek at the process—it was pretty cool...

Yayyy!! Our ice is ready!!

Black tea slushie + passion fruit ice cream - $45 NT, I picked my favorite passion fruit ice cream first, then debated over the slushie flavor. For a nice color combo, I went with black tea in the end…

The slushie isn’t overly sweet—it’s actually refreshing with just a light tea aroma. Paired with the sweet-tart passion fruit, it’s perfect, I tell you!! And while eating, I kept thinking: man, I’m soooo smart!!

Lemon slushie + matcha ice cream - $45 NT, the colors here are great too, really popping. QiQi said the lemon slushie was quite sour, but the matcha flavor is rich and delicious—it’s surprisingly not too sweet and actually feels refreshing!

After we finished the ice cream, the auntie actually “gave” us each an extra scoop of pineapple ice cream—for free!! She’s seriously the best!! I’ve never felt cold from eating ice cream before!

As we were almost done, more and more people poured into the shop—mostly students just getting out of class… It gave off a “youth is awesome” vibe… and reminded me of my own school days, when I wouldn’t rush home after class but sometimes hang out at nearby convenience stores with friends… XD
